HeartReach Center Expanding Outreach to Young Families in the MatSu Valley
Saving a tiny life from death, saving a family from ruin and ultimately saving people from eternal destruction has been HeartReach Centers undertaking for many years. They’ve a proven track record providing young mom’s with love and support to take care of unborn or newly born babies, and counseling with boyfriends/husbands to help keep the family together. As they say on their website, “HeartReach Center offers the life-affirming hope of Christ’s love in pregnancy and related life choices.”
And outreach they do with hundreds of young mom’s and families helped, and many who have turned their lives over to Christ, bringing young families to a place of true hope.
All this outreach has caused a need for expansion, and they are well underway with this expansion. HRC Executive Director Joyce Moropolous reported recently in a letter to interested people,
“I am writing to you to provide an update on our building project. I can say without hesitation that we are moving forward! There are several areas of activity on which I would like to report.
1. Architectural Drawings: Our plans, which are being done by Lacrosse & Associates and 907 Architecture, are 95% complete. There have been numerous meetings with the Pre-Development team, HR staff, and builders, and the drawings have been improved so as to provide HeartReach with the most value for our money. Our new facility will serve us well.
2. Room to Grow: One of our priorities has been acquiring a building with space to grow. The finished portion of the new two story facility will represent a 50% increase in space over what we have at present, while allowing 2,536 square fee for future expansion.
3. Funding: At present, we have more that $100,000 in contributions and commitments. A grant for funding through Mat-Su Health Foundation has been completed and submitted. When combined with the value of our property, we are within $30,000 of our 40% threshold. The forty percent mark allows us to access additional private foundation funding and grants.
4. On time! We are scheduled to begin work on the property June 1st. Occupancy is projected for November 31st of this year! Things are happening quickly. Please keep us in your prayers. There is lots of work to
be done and money to bring in! And give! Our new facility will serve women, men and families in the Mat-Su. Your donations are needed to continue the progress made thus far. You may donate securely
online at: www.heartreachalaska.com. The Board, staff and I send our thanks and appreciation to those who have given already. You have been faithful!”
