Many students in Bethel are in need of school supplies in the wake of the fire which devastated their school this week and The Salvation Army is seeking donations to help these students continue in their education with minimal interruption. The Salvation Army Alaska Division is asking for any such donations to be delivered to their Divisional Headquarters on 143 East 9th Avenue or to make a donation online to pay for the purchase and shipping of these items.
After consulting with officials in Bethel, The Salvation Army is planning on shipping needed school supplies to Bethel as soon as possible but needs public support to ensure that the students’ needs are met. Specifically, the school needs:
- Loose-leaf
- Paper 200 Notebooks
- 200 Pencils, 200 pens
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Rulers
- 40 Double-Pocket Folders
- Mini white dry-erase boards
- Dry erase markers (any colors)
- Scrap paper (box)
- Graph paper
- Folders
Anyone who has items to donate can bring them to 143 East 9th Avenue in Anchorage or visit http://www.salvationarmyalaska.org/alaska/how_you_can_help to make a monetary donation.
